Handwork That Helps
December 12, 2014 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 pm
Meet with friends who share your passion for helping the world through “handwork” such as knitting, crochet, sewing, quilting, tatting and more.
This group helps through the making and donation of baby blankets for teen moms, helmet liners for soldiers, sleeping mats for people who are homeless, dolls to help survivors of abuse or natural disasters, and so much more. There are many kinds of projects that can be done to support missionaries around the world, or provide important and needed support to people closer to home in your own community.
If you like to do handwork, please feel welcome. Or, if you don’t know how, but you want to learn, this is the place to start learning some exciting new skills with a group of friendly people.
If you know of a group that accepts donations of handwork, the “Handwork That Helps” group is always accepting new ideas for different kinds of handwork and different places to send it, so you’re invited to send them some info about your group.
“Handwork That Helps” meetings are usually on Friday mornings at 9:30 at First Baptist Church in Nacogdoches, in the ceramics room.
Meetings following the local school district school schedule. If school is out, they don’t meet.
When in doubt, it never hurts to call the church to double-check before you go, just to be sure they are meeting on that particular day.
